I Don't Have The Time or Money To Mess With A Custom Thumbnail!
You're not alone in thinking that creating custom thumbnails is a poor use of time and money! But, you can't afford to create videos that have a failed "lift off" because of failing to understand their importance.
It's past the time of thinking custom thumbnails aren't important! It goes well beyond the SEO value of the thumb. There is also an associated value in the human connection. The following points remind us how...
And if you haven't heard, optimizing your thumbnail is as important as optimizing meta data was back in 2012! It's the trigger that tells the search engine, "that's a good image"! (Tim Schmoyer at Video Creators has spent some time researching the subject. Watch his video for some enlightening info!)

There is a lot of conversation about how being a part of a group is affecting our habits and actions. There also is interesting debate and insight into how big data is being used to twist and change marketing to groups (herds),which in turn may be affecting serendipity! (chance with an associated a happy factor) You might wonder, how can big data and the herd mentality affect the "chance" factor? In this article by Martin Kihn, under the section "Brains Out Of Balance" there is some compelling information that may help shed light on how it does! Big data has also added a new dimension to the marketing cog through social media and advertising. Have we unknowingly been programmed and lost the ability to choose? Addictive tactics are being implemented in social media marketing to create predetermined actions from the herd. (Watch the video below and learn how) Advertising may be at a new level of deception for the unknowing "herd". The concept of the herd, the data and the "chance" of things are changing the world we once thought was static and solid. The control we have over our world is morphing into a new reality that may be good or perhaps, not so good. More things to think about as businesses create marketing strategies. A balance between good and "not so good" data practices will be the choice to define the best of the best! Awareness is the first step in taking back control of good, healthy, ethical business practices. by Sandra Watson Promise of so much! #Blogging. How many blogs fill the mysterious internet highway? How much is relevant? I once saw a great cartoon by Gary Larson where a dog named Ginger was sitting at the feet of his ranting owner with his Index finger pointed straight at the dog. The caption read “Blah, blah, blah Ginger”! You got it - the dog only heard its name. Many blogs elicit the same response? So much yet so little is delivered. We’ve all been there! We only hear and comprehend the part that speaks to our interest or emotion. I get so frustrated and tired of blogs that go on and on and have little to do with the captivating title that lured me into clicking a link in the first place. A link full of promise of finding the answer. Too often I find the answer is one little sentence three quarters of the way through the article or not there at all Are you kidding me! I know it’s my fault for spending all that time continuing to read, but I trusted the author to deliver! The internet can be a #timesucker! You know what I mean. You're looking for quick info so you Google. Your time is valuable. You pick a link that seems to hold a lot of promise. Voila! You’re on a blog page. Not bad but let’s be honest. Not every blogger is a great writer or a communicator. Some articles are boring and have a feeling of a college thesis. Trying to find the answer to the very topic that brought us to the link in the first place is like finding a #needleinthehaystack! Yelp! We get lost in the time capsule. It’s painful but we keep reading because we hope at some point we’ll find the answer and we already invested a lot of time and it could be in the next sentence. We become addicted - like the gambler who is looking for the next big jackpot! Why the "hidden" agenda? OK I get the need for SEO, key words, back links, etc. But can't we just be real and talk? Pretty much we are taught that blogging is a necessary evil of marketing on the internet. What happened to just having a conversation and being authentic”? Many of the blogs we find are by good people with misguided information that “anyone can write a blog” and should if they want to rank on the internet. Blogging is one way to improve SEO but I don’t think everyone can write a blog or should. If SEO is the only reason a blog is created, then it simply is an agenda to get me to click without an intent of delivering the goods. What I think... I think of my #blahg as conversations and observations. It lets me off the hook of being an actress and pretending. I can interact with you. I can share with you. And when you leave it's your decision to decide if what you heard was a message or simply "blahg, blahg, blahg"! I know one thing for sure though. If you have read this far, it’s because I have held your interest long enough to see if this was a blog or a blahg! And... that was my intention! Thanks for hanging around!
